Sunday Coffee Talk 2.0:
Quotes, Tips, Motivation, Workouts, And More
As we are back to the start of a new week, it is time to reevaluate and see where we can improve our progress and better our results from previous weeks. Get out there and dominate this week. Go after something that you have been wanting to achieve and get it done. This past week, I marked off one of my own fitness goals: 100 push-ups in a row. The previous time I had tried, I got 97!
There was no way I was going to let three push-ups stop me again. It felt really good to mark this off the list, now it is time to mark off another. Always get better…
Quotes for the Week:
With the NBA Finals coming to a close on Thursday, I found it appropriate to grab a few quotes from a few basketball legends:
- “You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them.” –Michael Jordan
If you want to get healthy and get fit, you first have to expect and believe that it can happen. If you start out thinking that it cannot be done, you are setting yourself up for failure.
Believe that you are going to get into incredible shape, then make it happen! To help inspire you to make it happen, take a look at our next quote:
- “Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.” -Michael Jordan
It is time to stop talking and wishing; it is time to start making it happen! You can talk all day about getting in shape and getting healthy, but until you start dedicating yourself and taking action, you will stay right where you are.
Let today be the day things change! Start making things happen and transform your body and life forever.
- “Never mistake activity for achievement.” –John R Wooden
Anyone can go into the gym and “workout.” But if they are doing the wrong workouts and eating junk food, they will never achieve what they are looking for. Always be pushing for new goals and aspire for bigger and better things.
Whether you want to lose 10 pounds in two weeks or gain 5 pounds of muscle in a month, always be pushing for achievement not activity. If you are doing the right activity great achievement will soon follow!
Workout of the Week:
I completed this workout a few weeks ago while in Boston visiting my brother and it was incredibly tough. Give it a shot this week:
- Box Jumps (50 reps)
- Push-Ups (50 reps)
- Kettlebell Swings (50 reps)
- Overhead Press (50 reps)
- Inverted Row (50 reps)
- Dips (50 reps)
- Back Extensions (50 reps)
- Knees to elbows (50 reps)
- Burpees (50 reps)
- Double Under’s (50 reps)
Your goal is to finish this workout in as little time as possible. This is an incredibly hard workout, so if you are a beginner be sure to lower the repetitions to 20-25 per exercise.
Food Challenge for the Week:
Try something new! Trying new foods is a great way to keep things switched up. A few weeks ago, I tried pork belly for the first time and it was absolutely incredible!
Put something healthy on your menu this week and try it. Adding new, healthy foods to the menu helps to keep healthy eating fresh and fun!
Inspiration For the Week:
“The difference between a goal and a dream is a deadline!”
I absolutely love this quote because of the pure truth it brings. Goals are so important in every area of life and this includes fitness. If you have not set goals for what you want to achieve, I recommend doing that this week.
If you have goals set, make sure you are moving closer to those goals each day and continue working hard to mark them off your list. As I mentioned, I was able to mark off my 100 straight push-up goal and I cannot tell you how amazing it felt to accomplish that!
Keep getting after it and keep making things happen.
