Four Ways To Keep Your Workouts Fun And Interesting

How To Keep Your Workouts Interesting

Are you tired of your current workout routine? Have you lost interest in what you are doing at the gym? Have you grown accustom to doing the same exercises and workouts each and every week? If so, this article is for you.

In the past we have discussed just how often you should change up your workout routine and different ways you can change it. Well today I would like to discuss 4 ways that you can keep all your workouts fun and interesting.

The ideas below will require you to try something new, but they will all help you get more fit and have fun doing it. Take a look:

Hit the playground!

The playground is one of the best places you can go to get in a new and exciting workout. As kids, we just saw the things we did on the playground as fun, but now we can turn those fun activities into full workouts.

When you really think about it, there is tons of different equipment you can use and it allows you to get very creative.

From the monkey bars to ab roll outs on the swings to box jumps to push-ups to dips to pull-ups and more. The options of different exercises you can do are endless.

If you are looking for a fun place to workout, go back to your childhood days and hit the playground for a workout. If you want some workout ideas for the playground, check out the video below:

Swing, flip, and throw

When I was in California recently, I was able to go to a gym called Innovative Results which was basically a playground for any fitness enthusiast. They had sleds to push, tires to flip, ropes and kettlebells and sledge hammers to swing, medicine balls to throw , and more.

The workouts that you could come up with were infinite and it is such a different kind of workout that the fun never ends. My dad works out there and my brothers fiance works there, and both absolutely love it. If you are in need of a new and interesting workout, consider finding a small gym in your area that focuses on this kind of training.

Not only will you have loads of fun but you will see crazy results too.

Try a bootcamp

Get a few friends together and start attending some fitness boot camps. Boot Camps are always a great way to keep things interesting as they are intense, competitive, and high energy.

My good friend Levi, whom we have seen on the site before, puts together a few boot camps a year in California and sees a great turn out because of the amazing time people have.

Yes, the workouts are incredibly hard and people may complain, but they do it with a smile on their face. The high energy that boot camps bring are what make them so much fun.

Plus, they are perfect for keeping you motivated. The last thing you would want to do is let down a friend or other boot-campers by not showing up.

Start training like an athlete

When I look back at my days of being an college athlete, all the workouts I went through were always interesting.

Although my workouts may have been similar much of the time, there was always some surprise element added to them. As an athlete, you are always looking for an edge on your opponent so that is why you must always be throwing in new factors to your workouts.

For starters, you can starting by adding in some sprints, plyometrics, jumping workouts, pick-up games, cone drills, etc. (Or a workout like this: Video)

If you want to start looking like an athlete, you must start training like one!
