Three Things I Hate And So Should You!

Straight Killin’ Your Results!

I am hoping this doesn’t turn into a venting session but there have been a few things on my mind that I absolutely cannot stand when it comes to getting fit. I see people do these things all the time yet still listen to them tell me they are “working hard to get in shape.”

Anyone can work hard, but it is just as important to work smartThe combination of working hard and working smart is when you will start seeing the results you desire. Take a look at a few of the factors I see people do on a daily basis when they are “serious” about getting in shape:

Drink Diet Soda

This absolutely kills me. I don’t care if it is “zero calories” or “zero carbs” you are still putting unneeded chemicals into your body. If something isn’t benefitting you, you should not be eating or drinking it (unless of course it is during a cheat meal or on a cheat day.) Everything that goes into your body should benefit you and get you closer to your goals.

Diet sodas are certainly not one of those things bringing you closer to getting more fit. Focus on drinking predominantly water, and you will be happy with the way your body responds!

Going From One Diet To The Next

Consistency is the key to getting fit and this definitely includes your diet. If you are always jumping from one diet to the next you will never see the results you are looking for. Find a diet that is proven to work and stick with it. You can stick with a proven nutrition plan for a long period of time and look and feel great. The only time you should switch your nutrition plan to something different is when you hit a platuea or for goal purposes (or of course if the plan you are on isn’t working).

For example, if you are first trying to cut fat find a diet that will do that for you. Once have gotten to where you want to be, you can then change up your diet to try and add more muscle, for maintenance purposes, or for other goals purposes.

Don’t spend your time trying the “next best thing” thinking that it will finally be the solution to all your diet issues. Find something that works, and do it consistently. Nutrition is not just a fad, it is a lifestyle. The best nutrition plans are ones that you can do for the rest of your life and always see great benefits!

Counting or Restricting Calories

I have talked about this before, but this needs to be said again. If you are eating the right kinds of foods, and eating when you are hungry and until you are satisfied you will like the results you see. Calorie restriction can slow down your metabolism and stop fat burning, both things we do not want when trying to get fit. Not only that but it will tear away your hard earned muscle.

As for counting calories, no one wants to spend their time counting everything that goes into their body. You should not want to waste your time counting calories unless you are preparing for a bodybuilding or modeling show. Even then however, if you eat the right foods and time them properly you will be prepared and very cut!

Conclusion

I hope that didn’t seem like a vent session, but it needed to be said. You need to start treating your body the way it deserves to be treated. Start consistently feeding it foods that you will benefit from and then add in a 3-4 cheat meals or a cheat day once a week. Find a plan, stick to it, and eat when your body tells you to.

If you are consistently eating the right foods and constantly fueling your body, fast results will start coming. Plus, you will be setting yourself up for great long term health!
