Sprinting to get RIPPED!

How to: Sprinting to get Ripped!

sprinting to get rippedTake a look at any sprinter and you will see someone who is strong, lean, and extremely ripped. This is not by accident but by the power of sprinting.

See, when you sprint you literally force your body to burn more fat. Multiple studies have shown us that the closer we work near our anaerobic threshold, the more fat utilization occurs.

This means that the higher intensity your workout, the more fat you burn.

What is also interesting is that sprinting allows you to manipulate 4 very powerful hormones in your body. And by manipulate, I mean it allows you to bring these hormones to the most optimal levels for you to burn the most fat.

The four hormones I am talking about are testosterone, growth hormone (GH), cortisol, and estrogen. Let me quickly cover all four:

Testosterone: In a study done by International Journal of Sports Medicine, researchers found that just 6-seconds of sprinting can increase testosterone levels. It is very important for both men and women to have optimal testosterone levels for a wide variety of reasons:

  • Helps build strong muscles and bones
  • Keeps you healthy and lean
  • Allows for a longer lifespan
  • Better sex life
  • Helps manipulate leptin and insulin levels

And that is just to name a few. Essentially testosterone (along with GH) is one of the most important hormones the human body has. So keeping them at optimal levels is ideal for great health.

Ripped and SprintingGrowth Hormone: Another key hormone to keep us strong, lean, and healthy. Sprinting has been shown to to increase GH by as much as 500% in some studies.

The reason this is such a powerful statistic is because when we reach the age of 30, our GH levels start to drastically drop. Sprinting has been shown to bring these levels back up and allow you to stay stronger, leaner, and more healthy as you get older.

Cortisol: The ‘Fat Storing Hormone’ that sprinting combats. Sprints keep your cortisol levels in check by keeping them low, hence allowing you to burn fat faster.

Cortisol is a stress hormone which is often found in people who sleep little or workout to much. Sprinting workouts keep your cortisol levels to a minimum which leads to more fat burn and better overall health.

Estrogen: Both men and women have estrogen in their bodies. And in men, more and more are seeing an increase in estrogen levels for a wide variety of reasons.

Now what sprinting does is cause your testosterone levels to increase which in turn causes estrogen levels to decrease. This is a great thing for both men and women because it will bring your body to optimal amounts on both.

In women, having the right balance of testosterone and estrogen has been shown to help eliminate cellulite and problem fat areas where in men it has been shown to eliminate lower belly fat.

The single exercise of sprinting is very very powerful in manipulating these hormones.

And by doing this, it allows you to easily lose excess fat, add lean muscle, and look and feel better than ever before.

If you want to start getting ripped, sprinting has to be part of your weekly routine!

If you are struggling to get fit, start sprinting. Simple as that!
