Low on energy? Just take a 5-hour energy shot and you will perk right up. LOL!
If only, right? Although, this may give you a nice little heart thumping burst of energy, I’d much rather go a different route.
10,000 years ago, there were no energy shots… I mean coffee didn’t even come into the picture until around 1100 A.D.
Fun fact: coffee beans were first used to make “energy balls” when people would mix the beans (or cherries) with animal fat and eat them. They used this before hunting or long marches. Crazy right?
Anyways, going way back even before that time… What do you suppose people turned to for energy?
Yup, you guessed it… FOOD!
We often hear people complain about having no energy, yet, for whatever reason they refuse to change their diet. They continue eating pizza, burgers, and fries thinking this will actually energize them.
I’ll be honest with you, my body doesn’t react very well to most foods. My stomach is very easily irritated and I can get sick quite quickly if I am not careful.
It only takes about 1.5-2 days for me to get sick if I eat a lot of junk food in that time. And give me some kind of dairy dessert like frozen yogurt at night… And I am done-for in the morning…
That being said, the last few weeks for me have been a huge struggle. Being on the road and very out of my routine, I’ve had a really hard time finding foods that actually give me energy and make me feel good.
I share this with you because my guess is many of you can relate. Maybe you haven’t been out of your normal routine, but maybe you just haven’t been in the RIGHT routine when it comes to what you eat.
That’s why I am very glad you are reading this right now… Because I am going to let you in on a little insider-secret that I use when it comes to resetting your metabolism, clearing your gut, and energizing your body in just 7-days.
And the best part is, it involves eating just 9 foods so you don’t have to worry about this being some complicated 1,343 food diet thingy. Just 9 foods and you are set to go.
And no, this is not your regular “cleanse”. You won’t have to drink cayenne pepper or syrup or anything crazy like that. Just real food for real results.
Let’s dive in…
It’s simple really, all you will be doing for the next 7-days is focusing on eating the 9 foods listed below. No need to worry about counting calories or weighing food. Just eat when you are hungry and until you are satisfied.
9 Foods For Massive Energy And “Met-Reset”
1) Grass Fed Beef
2) Wild Fish
3) Wild Game
4) Free Range Poultry (chicken, eggs)
5) Cruciferous Veggies (broccoli, cauliflower)
6) Fermented Veggies (kimchi, sauerkraut)
7) Fruits and sweet potatoes (eat one serving of each every other day for the 7 days)
8) Grass fed butter for cooking
9) Coconut oil for cooking or dressings (olive oil can also be used with balsamic)
Notice how all 9 of these foods are REAL food. Nothing processed or in a box. One-ingredient, 100% real and natural.
By eating these foods for 7 straight days, you will immediately start to notice how much better you feel both inside and out.
Looking at the list, #6 might be the most important. Fermented veggies like kimchi and sauerkraut are amazing for your gut. They will help “clear out the crap” so to speak.
I recommend starting slow on the fermented veggies, however, because too many too fast can cause some stomach discomfort.
What about Supplements?
I don’t recommend supplements very often, but there are a few that you can take while doing this (and can continue taking thereafter).
Digestive Enzyme: This will support digestion and help breakdown your foods properly. Plus it helps with absorption of foods, which is key.
Probiotics: This is a go-to for me because of the many benefits that probiotics bring. In short, they help bring the good bacteria that you need while eliminating the bad.
Those two alone should work great for you. Other options are krill or fish oil, a fiber supplement, glutamine (I take this always anyways), vitamin C, and vitamin D.
What about after the 7-days?
Good question. After the 7-days are over, you have a few different options.
First off, depending on how you feel, you can repeat the 7-days again to make it a full 14-day “Met-Reset.” This is normally what happens because of the immense energy you have.
After that you can slowly start incorporating more foods back into your diet.
Your second option, which is what I personally do a few times per year, is go through my Daily Shred Diet.
This allows you to start slowly incorporating some different foods back into your diet in a “cycle” fashion so your body reacts better.
Plus, it’s designed to help you preserve and add lean muscle while your body continues eliminating unwanted fat.
Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t expect you to never again eat pizza or pancakes. You gotta enjoy life and eat what you love.
Yet, what you need to realize is that you can be energized constantly just by what foods you put in your body
The key to remember from what we just covered is this… FOOD can and should be your #1 source of energy.
It’s what we spend a large part of the day doing, so make sure you are filling your body with the “good stuff.”
Looking forward to hearing your results,
P.S. I highly recommend following this “met-reset” to just about everyone. We can all use a nice little gut cleansing every once in a while. After the 7-14 days is up, go jump on my Daily Shred Diet for continued energy and rapid results. Get after it!
P.P.S. I know someone will email me this, and I’ll address it in more detail soon… YES, sleep is also another major factor to the energy you have, being that we spend close to 1/3 of our lives doing it. In short, get better sleep for more energy 🙂
