Sunday Coffee Talk 1.1
Quotes, Tips, Motivation, Workouts, and More
What an absolutely incredible past week. I became an uncle, my youngest sister turned 21, my parents celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary, and I had my 25th birthday (wow that feels weird to write!) There was quite a bit of celebrating going on so it is nice to be able to sit down and relax for the rest of today. I am thankful for all that is happening in my life right now, it is just such an exciting time.
I am very excited to start this new chapter in life as I turn 25 (still weird writing that) and want you to know I have tons of great stuff coming your way! Lets keep the ball rolling and see what kind of inspiration I have for you this week:
Quotes for the Week:
- “We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” -Walt Disney
I love this quote for two reasons:
The first is the fact that it challenges us to keep moving forward in life. Just as kids are curious, we need to be curious. We need to always be looking for ways to improve and try new things. If working out is something that is foreign to you, get curious about it and dive in. Find new workouts, change up your eating plan, and start getting healthy.
The second reason I like this quote is it gets me energized. New paths can be intimidating and scary at times, however we must learn to push past those fears if we want to move into new heights in our life. Make this week a time that you conquer something that has been standing in your way to success.
- “Fail forward.”
The best kind of failure you can have is when you fail forward. If you are not failing, you are not taking action. By taking action you are always moving forward, even if you fail.
Don’t dwell on your failures, see them as opportunities to improve.
- “If your ship doesn’t come in, swim out to meet it!” -Jonathan Winters
How inspiring is that? Far too many times you will hear people say they are “waiting” for something to happen in their lives. The truth is, it is on you to go get what you want. If you are waiting for your health to magically change, you will be waiting for quite a while. Stop waiting around, start taking steps towards where you want to be. TAKE ACTION!
Workout for the Week:
I did this workout last week with a friend of mine when I was crunched for time. It was an incredible workout that left us both on the floor afterwards. Take a look:
Hang Cleans: 5 sets of 5 reps
Rest 30-60 seconds between sets
Once finished, rest 2-3 minutes then complete the circuit below as fast as possible:
50 Squat Jumps
50 Kettlebell Swings
50 Overhead Press
50 Knees to Elbows
Complete all 50 repetitions for each exercise before moving to the next. Rest as little as possible!
Motivation for the Week:
- “You live longer once you realize that any time spent being unhappy is wasted.” Ruth E. Renkl
This past week was filled with lots of joy, especially as my family welcomed in a new addition to the family. This is the first grand baby in the family so you can imagine just how ecstatic each of us are. Being able to celebrate something so joyful really puts life into perspective and that is why I love this quote for this week. I have been through periods of life when I was unhappy or depressed, but to be honest, you must find a way to fight through those times.
Realize that you have a great journey ahead and this unhappy period will not last long. Start approaching life with energy, enthusiasm, and optimism. Make this week a week that something big happens in your life…
My book is published and ready to go on Amazon. Tomorrow will be the official launch as I am putting the last little details together on the back end of things. I cannot wait to share this book with you so be sure to keep an eye out for the announcement tomorrow. Things took a little longer than planned because of some formatting issues I was having with Amazon. However, I got things figured out and everything looks great!
Push hard this week to get better. I will be right by your side doing the same thing!
Making this week count,
